Invisible mold starts growing on foods after like 12-24 hours so I avoid storing leftovers. I am trying to avoid anything that worsens my yeast issues and I was advised not to eat leftovers. My husband usually eats everything left anyway. I have become pretty adept at making just the right amount of food for everyone and dh wishing for more (I plan it that way since he eats too much). If we have a small amount of leftovers, I just throw it out, but now we have four chicks...
We just got our foodstamps raised from $270 to $350 this month. I don't know yet how that will go for us but before, the $270 would last about 2 weeks and that was with using coupons and buying things on sale. There is no chance of us stockpiling or even getting through the month. I was told foodstamps were just meant as a supplement to your food budget and that's what it's been for us. Even with most of our debt reduced we still struggle to buy food in the last week of...
I just disagree with Suze on this one. I suppose it depends on your situation but I think for many people, paying off cc debt is the best option since they just gouge the average person. We have been living a very pared-down existence for so long now (5 years +) that we are actually in better shape than a lot of people right now even though we are a family of four earning around 27k a year. Last year dh quit a job thinking he could find another one within 2 months. It took...
I caught a blurb on the news last night about a guy who went from making 700k a year to mopping floors somewhere. How does someone make that kind of money and not have any kind of investments at all to keep a stream on income coming in just in case you do lose your job? These people are apparently smart enough to make 700k a year but not smart enough to make some wiser investment choices? At least some diversification. That kind of money can be put into a variety of areas...

I'm waiting a couple months or so to see rates go even lower and then I'm locking in a mortgage, paying closing costs upfront as I personally see higher interest rates in the future lasting a long time and I don't see how they can even go much lower than 4.5% and provide any kind of real profit to the banks.

The nice thing about online brokers is you can bail out if you need to as long as you keep track of your trades and don't go over the limit, then you can get stuck unable to sell. Another thing is to take profits off the table frequently, as in 5 or 10% and not get too greedy. But I agree it's not a good plan to dabble in stocks if you are not really well-trained in it. I sort of follow a guru's moves although when I've strayed and gone off on my own, I don't do so well....
I'd buy it! We can't live our lives as if we might lose our jobs someday because you might not, but you might lose out on other things with that way of thinking (like this house).
