We mostly have princess dresses (thanks to Grandma
I need to find a few career outfits (doctors, construction workers, animal rescue people) and a few fantasy outfits (pirates, monsters, animals).
I like the ideas posted above !
JesseMomme, how did CPS get involved? My understanding (I'm in NY, too) is that someone has to call, and it's usually a neighbor or negative person within your community with a very narrow perspective on what's acceptable in life for everyone else. Just curious. And I'm glad it was an open and shut case for you!
My 4.5 yr old will be starting K this Sept. Our school system is very good so I'm going to give it a shot, but I will be afterschooling her. If I feel it's not working I will pull her out and hs her (I've been researching it for 3+ years now). I'm lining up my ducks, so to speak, and if I end up hs'ing her, which I hope I do, I'd like to know there's others nearby doing the same.
I've done a lot of web searches but have yet to find anything organized for this area....
Ditto to the two posts for "Hold Onto Your Kids".
This book was amazing and I'm so glad I read it! I will be buying a copy after this one goes back to the library to re-read and highlight. Also, this is a good one to put in the family library and pass on to the next generation.
To sum it up (the book is packed with information so I will not do it full justice), children should be attaching to family first and then branch out from there into family friends and...
I dusted off my copy and am reading along as well. I liked that this book was published, we need more like it!
My second baby was born in the hosp with a midwife. If the midwife wasn't there the nurses would have had their way with me with IV's and pitocin. My midwife was awesome, she showed up within 30 minutes and stayed until I delivered (I was pretty quick). If I were to have a third it would, most definitely, be at home!
Oh gross! But I shouldn't be surprised. Since consumers can't really touch drug companies for faulty products, there's not much incentive for the drug co to try and be responsible.
Sorry for just jumping in, I was busy researching homeschooling these past 2 years.
I'm with you theatremum, esp being in NY as well. And I'll be experiencing this soon as my oldest is starting K in Sept. I still have to call and get her registered.
Any time I say the most remote ap comment to my family or friends I find they go on the defensive. I hate that, I know in my heart, if "mom" is happy then the whole house is happy and whatever decision I make shouldn't make someone else feel bad. I do look for opportunities to plant seeds for them to...
Both my dd's (ages 4.5 and 2) were on the tail end of colds and ear infections and then the red blotches appeared, first on their cheeks and then their bodies. They had small bumps in them and were itchy. The nurse said this is not uncommon to have a viral rash when it's mostly over. 5th didn't have bumps, and it was more "lacey" in appearance. She said ours was nothing to worry about. We just put aveeno lotion on it and it appeared to help a bit.
I had suspected...

If you'd like help composing your letter, please PM me, especially since registration is fast approaching. It's your decision if you'd like to include a brief explanation of your beliefs. You can submit a just-what-the-law-requires letter with just the law in the text or one which includes a brief...

Let's first see what happens in a few weeks though. I'm going to send you a PM regarding the amendment and the issues associated with it and you will understand.
LongIsland, hate to bother you, but any news on...
