Yes, and everything I have read about it leads me to concur that it is a hygeine issue. These moms need clean birth kits, clean water, and instruction on proper cord care. (Some cultures use cow dung on the cord.)

Well I am still bedsharing with my youngest, who is 20 months old, but my oldest is almost 14 and we have 4 others in between. But yes, all but the baby sleep in their own beds. A couple of them took a bit more nudging than others but not too much - they were fine to go to bed on their own but would come back in later in the night.  I am not sure what you are meaning by prenatal care, but HoP is right that she should not be doing any midwifery/ob things. That is not what she is trained for and she is not licensed to practice medicine. You could probably take a look around at different doula's website and get a feel for what they offer their clients to get a comparison. I think I have seen that some offer meeting twice before the birth, probably to get to know you and what you are wanting your birth...

It was in committee last week and then went to the House early this week but they keep putting it off. I just rechecked and they are now saying tommorow morning.
