I went to Casa in 2003 for three months and my husband and my son came with me... We stayed in a furnished one bedroom apartment and it worked out great for me...my son was only 20 months old at the time and was still nursing... It was busy and often I had to come in on my days 'off' for a meeting or something else needed but we had no other obligations at that time and my husband was extremely supportive...the shifts get switched around so sometimes you have to work...
Hi ladies! I am a trained midwife currently taking a (longer) break due to my own family commitments (homeschooling etc) but also due to the fact that I am currently living in a country where it's not possible for me to work as a midwife... We will be here for a while (5-10 years possibly) due to my husband's job and while I can teach childbirth education classes privately and offer labor support etc...I'd like to take advantage of this 'down' time to increase my...
Muslim women are supposed to trim/shave their pubic hair as part of their religion (and so are men), and as such those rules have been around for hundreds of years...they don't have to do anything with porn. Just offering another perspective..
I am taking a break from midwifery right now...I started out with no kids and now three kids later it's just too much for my family... There are seasons in life for everything, and for me, this is the season of motherhood... I still try to keep in touch...so I run a parenting group, do labour support occasionally, teach childbirth education classes...this way I keep my foot in the door and have something to do for myself... My husband and me always joke that one...
I wish Midwifery Today would sell their conference recordings as mp3...tapes are so outdated and I don't really have room for bunch of them to be stored... Anyone in touch with them to encourage them?
We have one and it's been great. We live overseas and travel a lot and it's great to have a US based phone number wherever we are, so we can save on long distance fees and such. We are able to stay in touch with friends and family with no problems. It won't work if you have a slow connection, so that's the only downside to it.
Actually in my religion (Islam) both men and women are encouraged to shave their private parts as part of being clean. It DEFINITELY doesn't have to do anything with porn or such things. It is said that there are few natural inclinations of people, and those are using a tooth stick to clean our teeth, rinsing the nose with water, clipping nails, plucking armpit hairs, shaving the pubes, and washing oneself with water after relieving oneself. There is also a...
Your ds1 sounds like he's a right brained learner...check out the homeschoolingcreatively yahoo group. It's very helpful! The group owner has this blog as well: http://applestars.homeschooljournal.net/
I have two boys the same ages as yours...8 and 5...in fact, whenever I see your threads I read with interest because often we're in a similar situation... Our days are similar...my eldest does very little formal work...he barely writes anything except for maybe captions for some of his drawings.. Just the other day he started reading books like Frog and Toad on his own...he can use the computer and internet just fine and reads whatever he needs for his video games...
I just wanted to add that I dress this way because of what Islam teaches us through Qur'aan and the Sunnah (the way of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him)...the covering is only a small part of Islam...but yet it tends to be the most visible one and one that most people ask about...in Islam women and men are different...they are equal but still different ...and thus the 'different' rules for men and women... Covering is only a smart part of my belief and daily...
