It's been a while since I posted this, I wasn't being notified of the responses and I thought no one replied! Thank you all so much for your advice and information. I decided not to say anything. One_Girl, I like your idea of leading by example.
I have been thinking about this for 2 months now and I am still not sure what to do. My 8 and 12 year old daughter's father, who left us and moved 2000 miles away in 2006, is in jail and will probably be going to federal prison for a few years on drug related charges. He has been minimally involved with their lives since he left. For the first 4 years there was no contact at all. When he was faced with jail time for not paying child support in 2010 he started paying...
Potty humor is fine in our house, but I discourage it in public so the kids don't offend anyone.  Our extended family and most of our friends share our sense of humor, so we've never run into a problem.
Hello,   I am looking for a little advice about my 12 year old daughter's best friend/ her parents.  They have been best friends since preK and we live close by, so these girls spend a lot of time together.  The friend is a very sweet and quiet girl who's mother is extremely over protective.  I am also a bit over protective, so we have always seen eye to eye on parenting issues and everything has gone well as far as the girls having similar rules, etc.  But now that...
My son is 23 months old and he loves his nursies.  We have finally gotten to the point where he doesn't fall asleep nursing (yay!) and he can make it through large portions of the night without nuring.  Generally if he wakes up I can get him back to sleep without nursing, until around 4 or 5 am, then he really needs it.  This is normal, and while I would like to eliminate night nursing all together, I am ok with it.  At least he's no longer nursing for over an hour to go...

Enter me please!  I was planning to get one of these bikes for my 18 month old for Christmas!
Hi Ladies!   I haven't been on here maybe since the babies were born?  It's really great to catch up and read about how you all and your little ones are doing.  I love reading how each baby is developing and what they're doing now.  It's nice to have a bunch of same age babies to compare Lucas to (in a good way).    Lucas is a really amazing baby.  He turned 7 months on the 23rd and is doing great.  He is mobile, but not crawling on all fours yet.  He does an...
