Hey, fellow barefooting mamas.... how about those "rope" sandals? How are the soles on them for a barefooter? I've been pretty much exclusively wearing SoftStars for a couple years now and my feet are soooooo happy with them! - but they don't have an actual sandal (though the merry janes are quite nice), so I was thinking of trying the rope ones. Any reviews? Recommendations for a good brand? Thanks!!
Thanks for all the suggestions and help! Straw is a great idea, and probably the most economical, so I'll likely do that. Sadly, my "unfinished" compost is mostly kitchen scraps so not suitable :-(
Probably just pantry moths. I bet lots and lots of things we buy have pantry moth eggs on them, but often we use the stuff up quickly enough that they never hatch. They are disgusting, and can be very hard to get rid of in the house if any have progressed to adult stage and started laying eggs in other places. But as for the store, it's more a case of the stock not being fresh, than it being "contaminated" in a dangerous sort of way.
I stopped using baking soda in my deodorant because it irritated my skin terribly (I don't shave.)  Now I use coconut oil, cornstarch (really that's just there to make the mixture thicker and easier to apply, I don't think it does anything toward actually deodorizing), and just a touch of frankincense/myrrh. (The frankincense/myrrh blend is from Ancient Essence; as far as I can see it has no additives, and it is in a roll-on tube which makes it a bit tough to get a few...
I know it's a great idea to cover the garden with a nice layer of mulch to keep moisture in and to discourage weed growth. My problem is, I don't have anything good to use. My compost didn't really break down over the winter, I don't have any trees (so no nice piles of leaves), and even if I did rake up grass clippings (which I don't as I understand it is better to leave them where they are) it would be a pathetic amount and not enough to nicely mulch the garden...
Which forum would be appropriate to post looking for advice on how to deal with a spouse who is addicted and the relationship problems, and how to decide whether or not to divorce?   Thank you.   Also, is it possible to post anonymously for such things?
Barefoot is a huge help for me dealing with PF, also. I took a seminar by Michael Sandler and bought his book, "Barefoot Running," which has lots of good information and tips. After trying out a few different minimalist shoes, I have been wearing Softstar moccasins (indoors or dry weather) and their ramblers (with a rubber sole) outdoors.  (http://www.softstarshoes.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=43) Good news, they now also have a boot! Along with...
