So exciting about the land - we are looking for 35+ acres ourselves, and trying to find the right place is SO hard! I hope you get it!   What kind of livestock are you planning on?
Hi Mamas! I should probably join after lurking for the past month or so.   I'm due August 29 with #3, and I'm 44
I know it doesn't answer the OP's original question, but I thought I would post a link to a short video of a flame test between standard polyester fabric and a polyester fabric that had a chemical added during the manufacturing process of the fibre to be inherently flame resistant:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeNOy3w76Wk   Personally, I don't like polyester sleepwear as it is hot and doesn't breathe. Plus it burns and melts at the same time. Whether it has...
I wouldn't bother with the baby blender. Cooked Sweet potatoes cut into chunks, avocado, egg yolk, banana, etc. are all great foods to start with.   I am sure someone else has more info on allergies; I have forgotten most of it since my youngest babe is now 4!  To be honest, we let them try foods that we ate, and didn't stress too much about allergies since food allergies don't run in either of our families. We also never mushed them up or fed "baby foods".
Welcome to pregnancy!! :)   *HUGS*   It gets better. It is totally normal, even though it sometimes feels like a battle to even get out of bed and face the day.   Try to rest up as much as you can, and make sure you stay hydrated, or you can feel much, much worse. Ask for help when you need it, and you aren't all alone (especially here!)   If it any consolation, I don't know if there really is any perfect time to have a baby. I mean, they totally change...
Amberskyfire - Actually, if you check their website, Carter's PJ's ARE flame retardant: http://www.carters.com/carters/2-Piece-Fleece-Pjs/VM_377-437,default,pd.html?dwvar_VM__377-437_color=Multi&start=     It can be difficult but not impossible to find non-flame retardant PJ's for kids. Because of requirements California has about flame retardants being present in children's clothing (there is a great article about it here:...
Hi, Yes we are. Although we really would like to move to CO!! How funny. What part of the state are you coming from?   (Also, I don't get on here as much as I used to, but you can always reach me by PM)
There are several great HS communities in Albuquerque, all very supportive. It is a great place to live with kids.   We are considering a move up that way, actually. We could trade houses (we are trying to sell ours) ;)
Thanks for posting this, nighten, I was just about to.   Here is another few links, along with a contact/idea/resource page that has a lot of email addresses and phone numbers. Please pass this along, mamas.   http://weareallhabiba.blogspot.com/2011/06/story-so-far.html   https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FDCuOChOCj_EbeeoLKXC8pT6VdJ8tk8Qg4KPJMRo1II/mobilebasic?authkey=CP_Sr84P&hl=en_US&pli=1   I suspect that the more international awareness and pressure...
Great to know! Thanks for the responses. We are still considering it, and being surrounded by few people sounds quite appealing right now :)   I will definitely look up that book, LittleBirdy, it sounds fascinating!
