Hazelnut, your child is scared, your job is to protect your child, you need to confront the neighbor who lets the dog run loose. Period. And the most friendly dogs in the world have attacked children because they were screaming and/or running away. A dog, is a dog...he can't understand that the child is scared and not attacking him. Add to this the fact that his owner appears to be an idiot. So, confront the neighbor. If that doesn't work, call animal control...
Thank you all for more thoughtful posts! The Hep B vax/immune disorder link is very interesting. I got the Hep B vax about 20 yrs ago, somewhere around this is when I had my first episode of low WBC and borderline positive RA factor. hhhmmmm...need to do more reading. And perhaps, we need to use our vet for our PCP!!! :-)
Thank you all for sharing! For some reason this year, I've been having occasional panic about whether or not I should get a flu shot, but I am reassured in not doing it. It never did make sense to do vaxes if one's immune system isn't working right. time4another, thank you for the blog! Can't wait to peruse it! Immune disorders suck...flu season sucks...Thanks again!
OK, how was that for a vague title?!? :-) I couldn't find my exact question asked, but please feel free to point me to another thread if needed. I do not vax my children anymore (started with dd1, less with dd2, none with ds,) but wonder about something I've always heard. I have heard that those with immune issues should be vaccinated. I have an immune system disorder that has not been fully defined yet, it is probably rheumatoid arthritis. Right now I'm in a...
Thanks for the thoughts...we don't drink milk or eat very much dairy at all. Maybe I'll keep a food diary for her. Her feet have always gotten sweaty and stinky fast, even as a toddler (my ds who is 2 has sweaty feet, too.) Maybe that's just her normal state? I will do some more searching....
my 6 yr old gets stinky pits very quickly, my almost 8 yr old dd never does. what's up? 6 yr old dd also has really bad breath in the morning, I mean almost poop smelling. So, I'm wondering...tonsils, lymph system are tonsil/sinus issues connected to whatever system makes bo?...something's off kilter but I don't know what. any ideas? add probiotics,... tia (sorry for rambling post, but i'm typing fast before I have to start work. I can't come to these...
my ds will be 2 next week. I do prefolds and Bummis SWW and aside from a few spots, have never had much diaper 'rash' trouble. I have used a solution of GSE and water or Balmex on the rare occasion he was spotty one of these worked. (I've always used amway sa8 detergent) About 3 weeks ago he woke up flame red everywhere except in the folds of his thighs. His skin will also get dried and peel! He was even red on the inside of his thighs. We had had a week of too...
The main reason I don't let my kids watch much TV is so when I need it to keep them busy, they are really riveted!! Maybe that makes me a worse mom? I actively deprive them just so the 'distraction quotient' is greater! (you know, sometimes momma really needs to take a dump without an audience.) btw, I'm a Food Network and HGTV addict so when I use a little TV to keep my 3 kiddos busy for a few minutes. I get to hear cries of "pork fat rules" and suggestions to...
hugs to you.. I always found that at around 6 months we had weird sleeping stuff go on too. don't have time for much, but if you have used benadryl I suggest you stop. I very rarely use otc meds and have always found benadryl and the like to cause irritability and sleeplessness.
(I know I'm way late to this thread, sorry) Hey, Tricia...huge hugs to you and your family...it can be very hard when what works for us is not what we had dreamed about. You are a great momma and I hope your family is well!! My very late addition, and somebody probably already beat me to this and it sounds like things are settling down for you, but did you ever look at food or other allergies? They can cause some really weird problems for babies. Just a thought. I...
