I had my water broken to start labor with my youngest. I was nearly 43 weeks and 5 cm. It didn't hurt it just felt really weird, like I was wetting the bed. As soon as she was done, I got up and contractions started about 5 minutes later. My labor was short, only two hours from the first contraction to delivery. I guess it was pretty intense, I'm not sure, it was my first unmedicated delivery. It never got "unbearable" though...I loved my experience! I would do it again...
I've been having the same issue. Honestly, my midwife said, at this point, the risk of thrush is worse than whatever issues she or I may have with using the "big guns", so I'm taking a two day course of Diflucan. I had a yeast infection before my last baby was born, treated it with a 7 day course of Monistat, thought it was gone at delivery, and we both STILL ended up with thrush. I'm also 37 weeks, and while if I were earlier in the pregnancy, I would have treated with...
yellow cake batter. With a spoon. Maybe I will settle for a cake batter cone from Coldstone, lol.
I was wondering the same thing.
I've been having REALLY irritating menstrual-type cramps for two days now. Lost my mucus plug last night. Midwife told me I'm 3 cm last week (which wasn't surprising)...I can't decide if these cramps are doing anything or if I have 3 more weeks (or more!) of this irritation to look forward to. It's making me grumpy. I am noticing cervical position changes, but the baby's head keeps moving up and down. Sometimes it's RIGHT THERE, others, it's floating. Obnoxious.
see, reading this makes me MAD. Not at you, KT, but at the hospital peds who basically scared my husband to death and forced him to consent to the culture when my son Aiden was born Oct 2010. I was 42+4, he was healthy, and my water was broken for less than two hours. My entire LABOR was less than two hours. I had planned a home birth but when I went so postdates I had to transfer to the Army hospital in Seoul Korea for AROM. They told me that because my GBS status was...
I'm 3 cm at 35 (36 tomorrow) weeks. She didn't say anything about effacement, though. I was 5 cm and still not in labor at 43 weeks with my last baby, I ended up having my water broken and a 2 hour labor...so yeah, I'd love the two hour labor, not so much the 43 week part though. LOL
there's still thousands of troops in Afghanistan. Seems like everyone I know forgets this. I mention that my DH is deploying next fall, and perfectly reasonable, intelligent people (who are up on their current events, no less) look at me flabbergasted and say, "But I thought the war was over?" NO. Afghanistan is still a bitter war, we are sending more troops every day, with no end in sight. Iraq hasn't been a real "combat" zone in a long time, the real fight is in...
I'm due the 11th! And I haven't done a DARN thing. I don't need to buy anything, but I do need to get my booty into the storage room to haul out all the newborn clothes and diapers. And wash them. And a million other things that I don't want to think about. My only consolation is that I tend to drag in the last weeks because I don't have anything to do but watch the calendar...maybe my procrastination will pay off. Or bite me in the butt, whichever. LOL
I have nobody here. We moved here in May from Korea, and all my family and friends are thousands of miles away. I don't even have anyone to watch my older kids while I'm in the hospital, which is making me stress quite a bit. I wish I had a network of friends to even cook for me, but I've never had that kind of care, even when I was in Korea and had lots of friends, they all seemed to help out the first timers, but ignored me. I guess they figured that since I was an...
