I'm wondering though...do safety standards and such take into account the fact that a smaller, lighter car can out maneuver a bigger car any day of the week, and thereby avoid a crash altogether? Or do they just focus on the survival...

We don't need:
~cell-phones
~full-sized fridge
~knick-knacks
~sentimental 'stuff' (except pictures)
~paper towels
~plastic baggies
~dishwasher
~make-up
~a second car
~'extra' anything
~DVDs...
I cringe when I see friends and extended family members throw recyclables in the garbage, and now that I compost I can't stand to see compotables being trashed either.

My DH is a huge sports fan. Giving up TV was a big sacrafice on his part. But it ended up being a positive thing for him because now he gets together with friends at their houses or goes out to see games, which I feel like is way more...
