Hi Everyone,   My 9 year old 3rd grader is having some school intervention -- we just had a meeting with the principal, guidance counselor, special ed teacher, learning specialist and his teacher, and the school wants me to have him seen by his pediatrician.   He has some focusing issues, and he is also struggling with spelling.  He is doing well with reading and math.    I am concerned about getting pushed to label and or drug my child     I have called the...
My son Alek, age 5 is in 4 year old preschool (late birthday). He's having some difficulties because he is not going along with the group on things. On the one hand, he's an independent, happy, confident, pretty delightful kid. On the other hand, it can be very difficult. Example: yesterday in class the children made little native american costumes, like a little vest and headband and then they had a little parade around the room..... except for my son, who laid down...
I had my DH on board before our third son was born, but only because my DH saw how much regret I felt over circing our first two boys. Perhaps what will help is encouraging your husband to see that intact is OK. There is nothing bad about having a foreskin. (Instead of telling him circ is awful, try to have him realize that intact is just fine!) And reassure him that you value him and respect him, but that on this issue, you cannot compromise. It is like sex to...
What is done is done. I would not tweet about circ -- it's too impersonal of a format. If you have the opportunity to speak with them before they have another child, go for it, but for now, let them enjoy their new baby.
Good for keeping that man's hands off your child's penis! You are the mom, you were not there for a penis issue.
How does anyone know what the AAP will do in 2 years? Does this doc have a professional connection to the AAP? I would call that BS at this point.
Cancel the appointments.
About the ear infection, I did not know that he had an ear infection, but he was teething and I took him in for a 9 mo well check just because I wanted to see how he's doing and get the affirmation that he's wonderful. The pediatrician said that both ears were "red and angry" and prescribed the ABX. It is our first treated or diagnosed ear infection among 3 kids, and my oldest is almost 5. Our baby was a quite fussy but I had figured it was teething. It just happened...
I haven't been giving probiotics -- do I get yogurt for that?
My intact 9 month old's urine smells -- I am not sure if this is normal or not but it has a stronger odor than I remembered with his two older brothers (who are circed.) I am slightly nervous that this could be a UTI or something else going on. But perhaps it's just a concentrated urine --- it's worst in the morning when he's got a soaked (disposable) diaper, but it's been pretty consistently a darker color and stronger smell. Has anyone had similar experiences? ...
