We're also trying to reduce cc debt, get by with just one income, etc. And I don't really buy too many diapers like some mamas here(Luckily, for some reason I'm so in love lately w/ the plain-cute look - pre-folds and just well-fitting plain covers). But when I have splurged on dipes (& baby clothes), I always dreamily justify it by thinking, "his little baby body will be here such a short time!" and probably when all is said and done, admiring it and taking care of it...
Are you sure it's disrupting the class or the teacher? It could be that you are the only one who is being bothered. (I know I'm like that, always overly aware of others' comfort and sometimes jump around accommodating them when there's not really a problem) So that was my one idea - maybe just direct her to be a little away from the others and let her do her own thing, hoping that she will little by little become interested. (maybe by participating w/ the other toddlers...
:LOL stacy31 I'm glad I'm not the only one that picks the lint fuzzy bits off, one by one. You know I've been thinking about this too. So many otherwise reasonable people come up with it It's gotta be some kind of deep-rooted thing relating to an overall cultural outlook: asking for one's needs to be met is gauche? it is somehow crude to articulate a physical desire? I don't know, I really don't get it. I can understand (though not agree w/) some objections to EN but this one is really elusive...
