We share with one other neighbor and we have an agreement that it's fine to move stuff from washer to dryer and from dryer to basket. If there's something I don't want to go through the dryer, I make sure I get it out as soon as the washer is done.
At our old apartment building (60 units), I never moved from washer to dryer, but I would put a load of wet clothes on top of the washer if they had been there for a long time (say if I'd come down to the laundry room twice...
I don't have any links, but I saw a story on the news once about a foundation that helps pay for tattoo removal for former gang kids trying to turn their lives around. Sorry I can't be more specific.

First, I am sooo glad your dh was not hurt. My dh was also robbed at gun point, and I can't think of it even now (it was 7 years ago), without my chest tightening up.
I hope that they find the guys who did this. It's too bad about the phone thing, but good to hear that the police responded quickly.
