I think that Nickisdiapers has bamboo inserts-I know they have hemp. 

I don't anticipate any visitors. We have only lived here a year and a half and the friends we have made are not hugely baby oriented or anything. My family will never travel to visit anyone. They won't see this baby til I drive the 800...

Never done the microfiber thing-always cotton or hemp and the occasional bamboo...the microfiber stuff feels really weird to my hands and I have heard they are a pain to get smells out of...but no experience with that so I don't know....

I completely understand! I have had several losses and was always very guarded about telling others when I have gotten pregnant, or been cautious about being 'too excited' or even buying anything baby or pregnancy related till well...
