I just started CDing (like today ) and love the Swaddlebees pockets. Well if they're going to discontinue I guess its time to stock up and get the next size up. Is the velour more expensive? I got mine from weebunz for $12.95!!
Good to hear that you can use the liquid. We just bought a bunch of it prior to switching to CDs. Today was my first full day doing it and it went great. No leaks. I also feel like washing them isnt a big deal since there is no real folding and sorting after, which is the part of laundry I hate. Also, since its nice out I dired the inserts in the drier and sun dried the pockets. They smell so fresh!
Thank you all for the tips. We have a Kenmore front loader. I felt like it was an awful lot of time washing the way I was doing it ( 50minutes followed by another 50 minutes), especially just for pee diapers. I thiink I will try the heavy duty option and the extra rinse.
I have a question. I am new to cloth and using pocket diapers. The instructions say to first use a cold soak. Is that the same as the pre-wash on the HE machines? When I do that the first cold soak followed by the rinse and spin its 50 minutes. Does that sound right? Also, the instructions say for the hot wash to use powder. Any one using liquid for that?
Your support means a lot. I told one of my friends (who let her baby CIO at 4months) that I nursed DS at night and she said "Bad Momma.". Its hard when all your friends and family are very conventional in their parenting ways. I guess whats worse is what has become convential in our society. Luckily DH is on board with me and says that DS is the happiest baby he's ever seen so I must be doing something right .
My 9mo DS is still BF and still nurses at night. He starts out the night in his crib and then moves to our bed. I am the only one of my friends who night-parents (most have done CIO ) and the only one who has BF this long. My question is this: Is it normal for my 9mo to still nurse a lot at night? Also, are there Mommas out there who after weaning their DC went to sleep on their own? I can't imagine my DS will ever fall asleep without nursing.
