Hugs, Reikimama, hope it's just a stomach bug, there's been one going around here...
I love that Joy of Cooking persimmon pudding too, and you can also slice and dry them in a dehydrator and use as dried fruit.  mmmmm, enjoy
Not sure how much time I'll have to surf along with y'all. I spent a lot of time on MDC when my oldest was little and still napping ;) but now, I'm a busy momma.   Due around 7/8/11, #2, we're really excited. I'm enjoying reading everyone's thoughts.   Wishing all you ladies who are feeling totally crappy to feel better...I've been given good advice from many midwives over the years, because I have a vomiting phobia, that the key to feeling decent during 1st...
I was feeling pretty crappy, and felt like it was my prenatal vitamins. I quit taking them, and felt immediately a lot better. After checking in with my midwives, I'm continuing to not take them, and eat really well, and I generally feel pretty good. I was pretty nauseous all the way till 14 wks with my first, so I've been surprised how much better i feel, and it's created some anxiety, because women all around me have had miscarriages this last year. But I think I'm...
Hi all, not sure how much I'll be checking in, but excited to be expecting number two...   I'm all about anything pomegranate. Always yogurt. And apples. And the other day, just had to have a bag of jalapeno cheese puffs. And sweets I cannot do right now, they gross me out. I'm having fun rolling with what sounds good.   Amanda
Thanks for the cleaning suggestions ladies. I wish cleaning was the solution, but this potty bowl is crusted with non-removable, crystallized urine, caused by infrequent emptying. It's kind of bonded with the plastic, and even chiseling or pounding it, it doesn't come off. We live off grid without a septic system, and we have long been challenged by emptying the bowl regularly. It has just gotten progressively worse over the three years we've had the bowl! Arg. Thanks for...
Hello ladies (and dads), We have the Baby Bjorn Potty chair, and the insert bowl is, well, gross. We still live in a home without indoor plumbing. I decided after the return from our vacation a few days ago, I would just transition her to peeing outside like we do, but she is having a difficult time with it. I realized the state of the potty bowl is partly driving this decision. Anyone know if it's possible to buy JUST the white bowl insert for the chair?
Not sure how large your broccolis were before you planted them out, but I like mine to get to be 4-6 inches tall with several sets of true leaves before I plant them outdoors. I am a little confused by your post about wilting and dying, however...wondering about soil pests, soil aeration, and also, as some other posters mentioned, about your hardening off process, though it sounds like you did that. Regarding tomatoes, I don't know what KY is like at all, as I live on...
Hi, I assisted with the start up of a very small CSA once a long time ago. I think it works best if you already have a space you can do it (i.e. no ongoing additional rent/mortgage for your growing space), and you already have a lot of the materials. The investment in irrigations supplies, seed starting supplies, amendments, and etc. can add up to a lot, meaning that your "profit" shrinks and shrinks. I would first evaluate these two things. Then I would get really...
Mine has always called it "Sides!" or "Sides-a" which came from me asking, "Do you want the other side?" Her friend Zoe calls it :"Na na's" Quinn calls it : "Bobbies" And my all time favorite, Nick (before weaning) called it "Milky-moo". Even funnier is that DD remembers the specific name her friends call their mom's breasts!
