I used to hang out all over MDC back in the day but it has definitely changed.  I think a lot of the "old-timers" burnt out and got busy with all the kids they had (I know I did).

I would pay for my own and expect her to as well.
My first was 41+3 and my second was 41+5.  I'm fully expecting my third to be a full two weeks "late." Just remember that 42 weeks is still in the range of normal.

Medicaid will pay for homebirth in Iowa provided that the provider (i.e. midwife) is properly licensed (likely a CNM license and not a CPM).
