Well I have found my way back to this board after a full decade and what do I find!  A post I replied to in 2003 as a midwifery student.  I have an interesting update.   I ended up having a VCI diagnosed at 17 weeks with my 7th child.  I had bleeding from 4 weeks until 16 weeks, mainly due to a SCH.  Baby originally implanted very close to the tube and the attachment point and placenta migrated away causing the velamentous insert. At that point it measure 2cms from...
I'm looking for some support and stories from moms who have gone through this experience. I am expecting my 7th baby and am 14.5 weeks pregnant. I spotted for all of my second month (July) then the first week of August had a flow of blood over night. I was 9 weeks at that point. Everything cleared up except for some more spotting a couple of times. Then 10 days ago I started flooding blood all over. I bled very heavy for a short time and as we were on the way to the...
Also curious. I ama student midwife and have been at a homebirth with a velamentous cord inserttion and since there was no intervention everything was fine. Water broke with the birth of the head, baby born quickly after. Placenta delivered with no traction, an excellent argument for midwifery care!
How “Little Man” Was Born Fourth Baby, Second Homebirth Tuesday the eleventh of January was a normal day for me. I went into the Maternity office: Did a few prenatal, helped with a postpartum of a mom with twins, and compared bellies with a lady that was due a few days before my due date, February 19. By the end of the office day, I was beginning to feel some strong Braxton Hicks contractions, and went home to rest and re-hydrate. The contractions kept going that...
Just wanted to let you all know that baby Emmanuel Colin was born Jan 13. 5 weeks early. Born at home weighing 5 lbs. Birth story over on the birth story board.
No I am much too concerned about not hurting the lady and what I am doing to look or care. I have seen a couple of different thing so far, and having just learned vaginals about 3 months ago and no doing PAPs. No one really cares what you do BTW even Amish women trim and shave sometimes--never seen a wax on an Amish lady though LOL! Yup 10 babies, thats the 2nd time I have been at 10, been at 1 eleven and met a Grandma at a birth who had 17! Norm around here seems...
Hello everyone. Thought I'd stop in and say hello I am hanging in there. Babe has gotten much more active over the last few weeks which is very reassuring to me. We have decided to forego all further testing for now and wait and see how the pregnancy develops. Had an "appointment" this week and am also measuring small, first time ever in 4 babies. I am thinking in my mind that this babe won't be here until the end of Feb or early March- thinking 22 weeks rather than...
Many thanks to Gretchen (alaskan tech) for a beutiful scarf and purse The soap smells great too! Thanks
WE went had had another Ultrasound done. The tech wouldn't allow me to look at the screen except at the very end GRRRR! Baby measured 18.5 weeks- could well just be on a 42 weeker insted of 40. He was moving his arms and legs but made no large body movements. Tech commented that he looked squished and didn't have much room. Everything they saw looked normal, however they we not able to visualize all 4 chambers of the heart or either kidney. We are taking it as they...
Talked with DH and we are going to get another ultrasound. I am torn with the decision. Yesterdays US was so bizarre. We were certain the baby was gone and then saw the movement, but yet so slow. We weren't able to visualize any organs but the heart and that not well, no real limbs etc. I've never seen an US like it and I've seen quite a few. I hesitate because I wirry about getting a label for a problem and then being unable to think about this baby, and only...
