I don't understand why you wouldn't want to report it?
What's also lacking in underdeveloped countries is enough trained birth attendants. many women and girls labor unattended or attended by untrained family members.
Definately bf at night and co-sleep if that works for you. I have known women you have had hardly any supply during the day, but have had their babies latched on and feeding all night. That works if you can get some sleep at the same time. Some babies who when they are awake and hungry do not have the patience to stay latched on if you take a long time to let down or don't have much supply. But they will stay latched on and nursing while they are sleeping or napping.
I started this thread so long ago I can't remember! So I'm glad that it is still providing support to those of us who can't find help even from LCs. About your son not latching on, keep offering! If you can still pump, do that for as long as it works for you also. It's such a gift, that breastmilk. My first child, who only bf for 6 months because of all the difficulties, latched on again when she was 2 years old! It was a little strange. I had just had my...
I'm afraid the 6:30-7:00 wake up is written in stone. We live close to school (5 minutes driving, 15-20 minutes walking), so eating in the car is not really an option. There's not much to be done in the way of streamlining the morning. If she and her brother are out of bed and dressed by 7-7:15 then we can all have a good breakfast, brush our teeth, put on our shoes, get backpacks that are already packed the night before and walk out of the house by 7:45. But if...
*I have also posted this in "childhood years"* My second grader has always had trouble falling asleep. When she was 4-6 yo she would take books to bed with her and read them until she could fall asleep. When she started first grade we realized that she was staying awake until 10 pm every night. So we decided no more books in the bed, hoping that without the distraction she would fall asleep sooner. But that seemed to have started the endless requests for water, trips to...

I saw it and had to have it. It's like nothing else I have seen before.
Right now my best friend lives in New York and I really need to meet some new people. Guys have always been my best friends. Let me make it clear that I am happily married and am not looking to have an affair. But with three kids under the age of seven and working parttime at a pre-school it is hard to meet guys! I have many women friends whom I treasure, but I miss having a guy friend. I looked at some of those online dating websites, but they are all for romantic...
My 13 month old was breastfed/formula fed until about 8 months at which time he continued on formula only. He likes many kinds of babyfoods and table foods. A month ago I switched him from formula to cow's milk and almost immediately saw a change in sleeping behavior. He started waking up more during the night and getting up as early as 4:30 am. Before this he was a consistent 8 pm - 7 am sleeper. So I went back to formula and his sleeping improved. He also cut some...
