I think they do really work. DS2 has been wearing his since 8 weeks and is happy as a clam. He got two teeth at three months and not at 6 months he has three teeth all together. Not a single problem with them! DS1 never had am amber...

You could try holding him in an ergonomic position over the toilet. It allows the body to eliminate efficiently with ease. (its why in India they squat to go rather than sit up like we do).
