But you said you are intact, right? Do you suffer from all kinds of infections??? Sorry, I don't know how serious you and your girl friend are, if you really plan on having children one day. But this is one of the few things I would *not* budge on and I'd make that known in advance. There is no way in the world I would ever consider marrying or having children with someone hell bent on circumcising. It would definitely be a deal breaker to me.
See if the friend and his wife/gf will watch a video of a circ and/or read a link on circ complications. It they are okay w/ rated R language and some nudity, the Penn and Teller video is good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoGwjeRRkTQ   For a great video without any cursing or nudity, try The Elephant in the Room - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ceht-3xu84I .   Complications:  http://www.drmomma.org/2010/05/death-from-circumcision.html   Lastly, there is no way I...
I have only one son. He is intact and his dad/my husband is circumcised. We also are not Jewish. However, my 10 year old intact boy never noticed the difference between him and his dad other than the hair. My son is now aware of circumcision (due to hearing me talk about it in general). He has asked his dad if he feels bad that he is circed, if it hurt him, etc., but never in a way where my son felt bad that *he* looked different or wasn't circumcised. If that makes sense....
I'm Christian. I'm not trying to debate in any way but always wanted to ask this question...How do they know? Do they ask and require proof? Again, not debating or being snarky but really want to know. Is there a certificate a baby gets from a rabbi when he's circed like a paper a gentile might get from a ceremonial baptism?
I do not have a blog but my husband does. The entries I like the most are about gardening and bugs. :-) http://growingliberty.com/
If you knew a few people who need to have their breasts removed due to disease would you feel you should remove your daughter's breasts at birth? Of course not. The same is true for foreskin. Yes, a few males have foreskin issues once and  a while but most of them live their whole life without any trouble. Plus, any surgery carries risks of infection, hemorrhage, amputation, etc. Why risk any of that without dire medical need? As far as circumcision in America,...
Today in a Ft. Worth, TX suburb, a woman was told by Burleson city rec center employee to either cover up her breastfeeding or leave. I commented on the Burleson City FB page but they just gave me the same copy and paste letter they had given every one else. They basically say she has the right to nurse as long as she isn't infringing on other's rights. They say she had to cover up or leave. The woman this happened to is a paying customer of the rec center and her...
Hope this is the correct forum for this. Today in a Ft. Worth, TX suburb, a woman was told by Burleson city rec center employee to either cover up her breastfeeding or leave. I commented on the Burleson City FB page but they just gave me the same copy and paste letter they had given every one else. The woman this happened to is a paying customer of the rec center and her husband filmed the incident. They are organizing a nurse in in Burleson (approx. 20 min. south of...
I just wanted to say hello. I don't live near you but I know where Marshall is (Jefferson is one of my favorite TX place and we always stop in Marshall on our way there). I've been on Mothering a long time but I've never heard of anyone from Marshall. There are a few members from the Lindale/Tyler area.
Can anyone tell me about the Franklin, TN area? Specifically things like homebirth, AP/natural parenting, vegetarian restaurants? Thanks!
