Whew. Failed pretty miserably at the aggressive food budget, but glad to have tracked it. There's always room for improvement. Early for today, because neither the party we're going to nor trick or treating will cost us a dime. Looking forward to November! [QUOTE=FeelingBlessed;15964649]Knew the food budget was really aggressive given our track record. Going to keep the $500 as a goal, but not beat myself up too badly for falling short. Baby steps... Congrats on the new little bean Turquesa; definitely cause for a restaurant meal!
Everyone is exhausted after a weekend featuring free fun from dog sledding practice (w/ a scooter) to Ski Patrol practice lift evacuation. Need to address grocery budget asap before it explodes in the 2nd half of October. A bit lacking in motivation there. With just a month and a half (ish) left before I leave my Exec. Dir. position, having minor budgetary panic attacks. Most of the time, pretty certain everything will work out as it should, w/ a budget in the black. ...
Long, long, long board meeting tonight, but the day contained many occasions to practice gratitude. Surprise eggs at a morning event (great to have friends old + new w/ chickens). Tons of laughs sprinkled throughout the day/night. Gorgeous afternoon spent at homeschool co-op/playground w/ fabulous kiddos + their sublime mums. Life is good (even though tomorrow will probably end my streak of no library fines - books/videos were apparently due on Columbus Day even though...
Grateful for a gorgeous day at a local fall foliage festival. Though our monkeys didn't *need* the book, multi-colored pen, fire car, puzzles, etc., I was happy to support a couple of great organizations w/ the funds. Whirlwind of a great day. Grateful for little monkeys letting loose on the soccer field, the joy our kiddos found selecting (w/ gift card)/delivering toys to the shelter, sweet treats (included in food budget) on the porch at the best apple orchard ever, discovering an amazing outdoor sculpture gallery (free!) with animal beasts towering over visitors, our mutt making friends w/ some llamas at a local farm (free!), and watching our monkeys channel fish in the pool tonight...
Really, really need to work out a meal plan this weekend. More than halfway through my (uber hopeful) food spending goal for the month. This does include a bit of stocking up - 10 lbs of frozen organic blueberries purchased wholesale, and a big box of wholewheat bread grabbed for $1/loaf. Today should be no spend (or spending w/in budget) - soccer, pet store (for flea med w/ gift card), shelter (drop donations from our littlest monkey's b-day - must NOT come home w/...
