Cinnamonamom, your baby eats plenty of variety! My ds is absolutely fixated on bananas and sweet potatoes. Banana was his fourth word, even!!!! I have tried more vegetables and fruits (I'm lacto-ovo veg) but he will only eat certain fruits and some veggies. He spit out the peas, green beans and spinach. He thinks steamed baby carrots are fun toys to tease the dog with. He'll eat melon (raw) for anyone *but * Mom!: In the long run, I'm not too worried about food...
SofiaMomma: My ds just turned one and I still pump - just had to buy a replacement pump, BTW. I agree with Quirky - it has been much easier with ds on solids. He doesn't do many - mostly fruit and vegetarian proteins like cottage cheese, goat's milk yogurt and tofu. I pump a few bottles a day and send them to the sitter with the solids. Also, have you tried diluted juice in bottles? I am also experimenting with diluted "mom juice" in bottles because DS will...
What, you've never heard of the teradactyl yell? I swear I gave birth to a dinosaur!!!! I agree with the other posters, I think it's just a test of a) your child's voice capabilities b) your reaction. Ds did it alot a few months ago, but now only once in a while. Cross your fingers that your son outgrows it soon.
<> Hey Denny: How are you at the belching and scratching parts of husbandry? Do you nag yourself too?
Sorry, I'M the world's worst Mom. Got the cape and everything. Baby is such a speedy squirmy wiggle worm, I can barely keep up. At 10.5 months, he has fallen off the couch, the futon, bonked into the chair leg, out of a swing and tipped himself over while crawling countless times. I was next to or near him every time, too. I've taken to practically lying across him while changing his diaper. It worries me to death, but he seems to be OK each time. He sometimes...
Hi Mommas! If it's any consolation, my baby didn't tolerate (forget like!!!) baths until he could sit up in them on a cushion. Now he will sit still to be bathed if he can sit and play with his ducky. He only cries when I lean him back to wash his hair and prevent water from getting in his eyes. I keep waiting for County Protective Services to come and get me he cries so loud!:LOL
OK, I'm a charter member of the skinny baby club too. Baby Bear is *dwarfed* by other, younger babies in daycare, at the store, on the street, you name it. He was born 2/5/2003, but still weighs under 20 lbs and is almost 30 inches long. He has tiny feet, too. Forget booties, socks are the only thing that stay on; every shoe/booty/other foot covering is soooo big he just kicks them off. However, baby is a BIG eater. I WOH, but can't keep up pumping, so he started...
Better late than never! I just found this forum and am glad to join. Baby Bear was born 2/5/2003. He has been hands and knees crawling since mid-October. I call him "speedy Gonzales" because he really goes. He is also beginning not so much as pulling himself up as doing a modified push-up onto his feet. He loves being naked and gladly poses for the camera. My ds, the budding porn star!!!!:LOL He has two doggy "big sisters" and like many families, one...
>>then he started making stupid comments like, 'Can I have some in my coffee?' << Mama in the Boonies: I had the same thought two mornings ago. I was DESPERATE!!!:LOL It was dark, cold (for California, anyway) and I had no milk for coffee. The pump was sitting on the kitchen counter. I actually entertained the thought for a moment or two, then the baby woke up. I ended up walking the dog and baby to the store for milk. Man, am I addicted or what?
f/ood for thought: Our society places so much value in last name. Some of our most "known" historical figures didn't place as much value as we do; i.e., Buddha, Mohammed and Jesus. One can name them without a last name and yet we know to whom we are referring. So, I have to laugh at the silliness of it all. My own personal name story: At the church, spouse and I are signing the marriage papers with the minister. My FIL sees the certificate with my name,...
