Pros: compact, quiet, one-handed use

Cons: none

I produce breastmilk due to being on the drug Domperidone for gastroparesis, even though I have never been pregnant.  Because of the amount of breastmilk I produce while on this medicine, I kept getting breast infections, so my gyno suggested that I pump a little bit of milk out of me each day to reduce the risk of recurring infections.  I used to have an electric pump, but found it combersome and hard to travel with, so I bought the Ameda One-Hand manual breastpump with flexishield.  It came with a carrying bag and a free set of breast shells.

After using the one-hand pump for a week, I LOVE IT!  I like that the Ameda pump is easy to use, compact, quiet, and very easy to clean and assemble again.  I also like the Flexishield insert for the breastpump.  It is very comfortable and conforms to your breast shape, so pumping is more comfortable.

The carrying bag that came with the pump is teal color and has plenty of room for other breastpumping items like nursing pads, cream, and a small bottle of water.  It zips closed and has a strong carry handle.

Overall, I have found that the Ameda One-Hand manual breastpump is the best manual pump on the market and I recommend it to any mom who needs to pump on occassion.

Pros: portable, compact, fits with pump horns

Cons: squeaky, not ergonomic, not very strong

I have both this and a Medela Harmony and far prefer the Medela.

The biggest problem is to operate it, you grab it in the palm of your hand and squeeze.  By the end of a 10-15 min pumping session I always have blisters between my thumb and forefinger from the blue plastic cutting into my hand.  It's very uncomfortable.

It's also very difficult to adjust the suction on this one.  You can easily pump faster or slower but it's difficult to get higher suction or lower suction.

It is handy, though, to keep in the bag with my Purely Yours pump and use in case the batteries on my electric die.  I think that's the only reason I'd use it, really.  For quick manual pumping I always prefer the Harmony.

Pros: simple, small and light-weight

Cons: a little tricky to hook up the first time, squeeks

This came with my new Ameda Purely Yours, and it was my first venture into manual pumping. I have to say, it's a simple and elegant design! I love that it's small and lightweight, so I can pack it for trips out of town when you never know if DD will get a cold and nurse less, so that I'm guaranteed relief. I had to read the instructions a few times and stare at the pictures a bit to figure out how to attach it the first couple times I used it, but then I was impressed with how well it worked! I love that I can use it with the pump parts I'm already very familiar with, and it's very easy to increase the suction just by squeezing a little harder. Oh, mine does squeek sometimes, which can be a bit annoying, but other than that I really like it!
