I recently had the opportunity to try the Boba 3G as part of the Mothering Mavens program. I loved my Moby (when our son was tiny) and our Beco Butterfly (which we used daily throughout his first year), but I was excited to try the Boba because I had heard that it was especially good for toddlers.
Pros:
Cons:
Overall the Boba is a lovely carrier. I have experience only using it with a young toddler, so I don't know how it would work with a smaller baby, but for a one-year-old I think it is an excellent option.
Pros:
- The carrier is comfortable for the adult (or as comfortable as I imagine any carrier can be when carrying a 23-pound person!) and our toddler seemed to like it too.
- The carrier is attractive, with cute prints and lovely colors.
- It is easy to put the carrier on and take it off, easy to adjust the straps, and easy to put our toddler in and take him out of the carrier.
- It was relatively easy to breastfeed in the carrier.
- The wide base and the foot straps help to keep the toddler from kicking the adult as you walk.
Cons:
- Snaps on the waist band are right at some adults' hip level, and they are uncomfortable if you have bony hips.
- In comparison with the Beco Butterfly, it is slightly harder to put the toddler into a back carry with the Boba.
- There isn't a great storage option for the hood, and it looks bulky if you put it in the pocket.
