Pros: cheap, durable, good customer service, and easy to use

Cons: hard to find!

Bumgenius is a premium brand for a reason: these are the energizer bunny of cloth diapers,  They just never quit.  The 3.0 was an excellent diaper, discontinued  when bg changed the kind of velcro tabs they used.  And now these go for very cheap (between $8- $12) on facebook and even craigslist.  a summary of the pros and cons is below:

  • pockets are large and easy to stuff

  • premium brand quality, low price

  • adorable colors

  • velcro lasts and lasts, for my used pockets I just had to clean the tabs and they worked again

  • if the PUL ever gives out (and mine have not), these make excellent fitteds for nighttime

  • only available used, hard to find

  • the fabric is often pilly looking, but this is purely cosmetic

I love my bg diapers. They work well and hold their value, cutting down the cost of CD over time.

Pros: holds a lot without leaking

Cons: velcro doesn't last as long as the rest of the diaper

We use this diaper for night time because it holds more than most other diapers that we have.  We like it but the velcro does not last, so the diaper comes undone and come off of baby.  But when it is on and secure, there is no leaking.

Pros: Ease of use, decent fit, fun colors

Cons: Velcro eventually fails, kinda bulky

The BumGenius one-size is a great staple for any cloth diaper stash.  It's easy to use, particularly for someone new to (and a little intimidated by) cloth diapering.  It works so much like a disposable, right down to the hook-and-loop fasteners.  That said, I think any experienced CD mom eventually realizes that the durability of snaps outweighs the ease of hook and loop.  These diapers are a little bulky--of course, they're one size--but they're fairly leak-proof and durable.  One complaint:  I think the snaps on the inserts are a little much--I never actually fastened them to size down the inserts, and it's just overkill.  Plus I always wondered if the snaps hurt my little guy's backside.

Pros: Attractive, held up with heavy pee-pee

Cons: Velcro was too scratchy and attracted too much lint

I liked these diapers up until the point where my son started crawling at 6 months. I noticed he had bad rashes on his thighs and realized it was where the velcro was rubbing into his legs. We had to stop using them for that reason, but it also was not helpful to wash them and have all kinds of lint cake on the velcro. It would take me forever to pick stuff out of there. I finally switched to diapers with snaps and have been using them ever since.

Pros: easy to use, reliable and great range to choose from

Cons: velcro gets stuck to other items, gets clogged with fluff and starts to wear out

These are one of the main items I wanted and received as baby shower gifts....they have worked wonderfully over the last almost 2 years. Very few leaks (except when velcro failed), easy to launder and care for. I have used these almost exclusively for 22 months. I have stripped them twice when they started to repel liquid (build up of detergent is the cause of this) and they continue to work well. The only con is the velcro...after 22 months of nearly constant use (I have 20 diapers in circulation) the velcro has started to curl. It also doesnt stick so well to the laundry tabs so I end up with a giant pile of diapers etc when they come out of the dryer interconnected. I clean the fluffies out of the velcro with a small olive fork...and at some point soon I will tackle changing the velcro out for new...fairly simple once I get it set up.

All in all I am extremely happy with these and how they have performed over the last 22 months.
