Pros: interesting facts, covers parks in every state

National Parks has given my 8 year old daughter a great sense of how diverse and wonderful our country is, as well as what am amazing national resource our national parks are.  I love how this book covers parks all across the country, in the 50 states as well as the US Territories.  My kids really enjoyed reading about parks we have already visited.  My 8 year old likes to read my 4 year old some of the interesting facts and statistics in this book.  They also liked "The Great American Birdwatch" section, since they are big animal lovers.

National Parks is a great addition to our resource books.  The kids are free to read and learn at their own pace and interest.  In the back of the book is a cool pull out folder to store a state quarter collection.  My kids have never cared about collection coins before, and now they actively look for state quarters.  This has given both my kids exposure and interest in the different states. So far, our collection is small, but I look forward to growing it!
