works just fine

Pros: cheap, accurate

Cons: you have to wait, and use morning urine

If you test frequently, it much more cost effective to use these.  They suggest using morning urine, but you don't necessarily have to.  They don't work as early as the pricier ones, so I have gotten negatives, and then tested later for a positive.  Still buying two is a lot cheaper than buying one of the early tests.

Cheap and effective

Pros: $1, easy to read

Cons: must use cup

I rarely shop at the dollar store, and with my first two pregnancies I bought expensive tests from other stores. I happened upon these just when I needed them, and I can't believe the price! At least 75% less than any other brand I could find, and they do the same job in the same way, detecting the same hormone. It was easy to read and I got a strong positive result on the first day of my missed period. The only downside is that you'll have to use a cup, but I like to do that anyway rather than peering down between my legs trying to determine I'm hitting the right thing in the right way.

Cons: Does not pick up the level of hcg suggested on box

I never write reviews for anything, but this test gave me such anxiety for 24 hours! I initally took FRER at 10DPO with FMU and it came up as a very faint positive. I called the doctor as well that morning requesting a blood test b/c last month I had a chemical. I took another FRER that afternoon and the line was gradually getting darker. On 11DPO I took a EPT Digital and that showed positive and a FRER and again the line was getting darker. HOWEVER, my OBGYN called with my blood test results and told me that my hcg levels were only at a 14 miu and they would have to double (28 miu) in order for the pregnancy to be considered viable. At 12 DPO, I went and got my next blood test. ...

Not as effective

Pros: cheap

Cons: don't work very early

I used a few of these over the past few days and all were negative.  I then went and got a First Response Early Result and a CVS Early Result and they were both faint positives after 2-3 mins.  I'm going to buy some more and keep taking them to see if they eventually turn positive as well as go in for a blood test to (hopefully) confirm.  They are not as sensitive as these other 2 tests.  I know a couple of months ago I miscarried at about 5 weeks and that was the only brand giving me negatives, all the other brands gave me positives (I probably used ALL of them).  Just a thought....

higher chance of evaps

I used a few of these tests last cycle and there is an 80 percent chance you'll get an evap within the time limit and before 30 minutes, I will NOT be using them next cycle.
