Pros: Does not assume one religion is truer than any other

Cons: Some parents may not appreciate that their religion is not set apart as true

This basic introduction to the major religions of the world begins by explaining religion in fairly vague terms: "a whole set of ideas and beliefs that are so important they often control the way people behave and act."  The book does not assume any of these ideas and stories about the world are true (or untrue), which may or may not be what one is looking for in a book about religions.  The coverage of each religion is a bit haphazard, and there are no chapters to break up the information.  But it is an interesting read in general, and there is a general emphasis on what all the religions discussed have in common.  The conclusion specifically mentions people who...
