The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth

100% Positive Reviews

Pros: Good information, easy to read

Cons: Biased

This is a great book to give to newly pregnant mamas who aren't as familiar with the risks associated with the current trends in highly "managed", medicalized births. It gives a clear explanation of the medications and interventions commonly used in Western medicine along with their potential risks and benefits. I think it's a very helpful book that lays all of the information out there; but I realize that it is biased in its approach and may turn off those that are very trusting of the medical profession or otherwise on the fence. Still, it could also be helpful in opening the door and initiating the conversation. smile.gif
