Has anyone done this? Where did you go? I went through my jewelery box over the weekend and found a decent amount of broken and old jewelery that is either 10k or 14k gold. Thoughts?

I've never done it but I always see those "cash for gold" commercials on TV where you call and they'll send you an envelope then you send it back and get the $$..... don't know anything about it but maybe you've seen that commercial too?

Those "cash for gold" places are seriously misleading.
They pay scrap prices for gold, which isn't very much. Such as $10 or 12 for a thin chain.
If you sold your jewelry, I'd consult an independent jeweler first and ask him or her for good resources where you could sel.l

I have been invited to 3 "gold parties" in the last month. Basically, bring your old gold jewelry, gold teeth gold plated this or that and get cash. Whatever. One girl I know took home $1097 cash. She also did a party and took home more. I should mention she is a hoarder and so is her mother thus the reason to dig all this up.
I dont have much gold or jewelery like this so it would not be much to me.
