No worries. I was not at all upset. I know it is a little odd and that is why I never use that term with my siblings because I feel it would hurt their feelings. My husband and many of my friends are parentless (either one or both) so it is a discussion I have a lot and am comfortable (although not at all happy) with.
Space is good.
Cherie2 talked about cleaning out her mom's house. That helped me, my step-father and sisters as well. It was very cleansing and we did a lot of healthy crying and sharing of stories. And after that, we gave each other some serious space (except my step-dad for obvious reasons).
