wet felting pattern question - bubble wrap?

Thread Starter
I'm going to be wet felting a hobby horse, and was going to try to make a pattern to felt over so that it will be stuff-able.

I think the pattern needs to be made from something plastic, that the wool won't stick to. Would bubble wrap work, or does it need to be something stiffer that won't bend or fold during the felting process?

Any suggestions on what to make the pattern out of?

TIA

I'm far from an expert, but I've had luck with cotton not sticking in the felting process. That's what my felting book recommends. I think I used an old sheet. Of course since my results vary greatly in other ways I'm interested in hearing what others say.

Ok, I'm throwing away my crunchy credentials entirely here...

the single best thing i have ever, ever, made a resist out of was the polystyrene tray that some frozen pizzas come on :

Bubble wrap will work, but I'd use two layers of bubble wrap and parcel tape around the outside to give it a bit of stability. The floppiness really, really bugs me sometimes.
