Twins, Twins, & Sextuplets

There's a new series starting on Discovery/TLC tonight to add to their lineup of Jon&Kate+8, 17 Kids and Counting, and Little People, Big World.

The Hayes family has two older sets of twins and a set of sextuplets.

Here's an article from the birth of the Hayes sextuplets.

I'm really hoping this family will have something to offer that Jon&Kate and the Duggars don't. Apparently, after the birth of the sextuplets they tried to close themselves off from the media to have a more normal life for their kids. I wonder if the premiere tonight will discuss why they've chosen to do the show now.

So far they seem to be the most realistic family...

I'm amazed by how well the pregnancy went! She went til 32 weeks, I think, and it they seem to say on the show that she walked into the hospital the day they were born. And they ranged in weight from 3lb9oz to 4lb10oz.

Tonight they looked like a totally normal family. The father is a police officer, and so is my dh, so I'm partial to them already, lol.
I missed the part when they talked about the little girl in the wheel chair. She has special needs of some sort, but I missed what they said. Anyone?

I do hope they stay a nice family and don't let the specials/series get too out of hand.

And let me say, I love this family

They genuinely love and care about each other and SHOW IT all the time. The kids are supportive of each other (the older one... Kyle was it? and his relationship with Rebecca, the sextuplet with special needs... that made me smile big time)

The parents don't shout at each other or stereotype their children negatively. They are gentle and sweet and they don't get mad at the kids for being kids.

I also love that they don't have individual wardrobes just little kid clothes and big kid clothes and they utilize hand me downs and don't do matchy-matchy.

I just really enjoyed this show. It was really, really nice.

I really enjoyed this show!

I'm watching it right now and I LOVE IT! It's such a refreshing change from J&K. This family seems real. Yeah, they're eating McDonald's but at least they're honest about it!
I hope they keep it real

Does anyone know when/if it will be on again?
I missed it.

Finally a 'real' family... we have 9 kids with us (#10 lives with an aunt) and that is so much more realistic of a hectic life.... the laundry.. the chaos.. the drama etc... and no one is freaking out over clothing stains : no screaming from mom... such a nice change from jk&8
Dont get me wrong, JK&8 are very fortunate with all the trips they get and the gymbo clothes etc but we NEVER see their family... TT&S looks like they have family around etc...

I love this family. I was not a fan of her discipline style - punishing all the tups for the one or two that drew on the counter but didn't fess up. But I don't have sextuplets and I bet with that many you would always have somebody either never fessing up or blaming it on each other and Mom would never know. And at least she didn't scream and threaten them like you know who probably would have done.

You can definitely tell they're stressed (who wouldn't be?!) but they relieve it through humor and sarcasm rather than through yelling and bickering a la J&K+8.

I absolutely LOVE how they treat Rebecca. She is carried pretty much everywhere and almost always sitting on a lap rather than left to a wheel chair all the time like a lot of special needs kids are.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of the group time out thing. I was fully expecting her to yell at them and demand to know who marked on the counter. I thought she handled it pretty well, honestly.
I agree about Rebecca. It seemed like she was involved like all the other kids, I loved seeing that.

I liked the show -- however -- I would not take that many children to a restaurant until they have learned how to sit still and behave properly. Perhaps they are too young - but I dont think its fair to the other patrons to have 10 uncontrolled kids running around. Just my opinion - dont expect anyone else to agree with me

It seemed to me that they were in a seperate room, right? I remember thinking it was smart that there was a bathroom adjoining the room.
