we wer looking in woolworths a couple of weeks agon for DD1 to get a small thing as a gift from her great-grandparents. i saw some FurReal friend babies all with feeding bottles, a puppy, a kitty, a DUCK. with a bottle. i scoffed at it and laughed. i said well thats a bit silly, ducks dont even drink milk, never mind need bottles, a lady in front of me laughed at me but whatever.

a DUCK, with a bottle. ok. i have been toying with the idea of writng to the makers of FurReal Friends about this as it is a bit silly, not only does it normalise bottles, but it sort of teaches kids that ALL babies need bottles, even those that are not mammals.

I know, I saw all those on Saturday. My kids all noticed and said how stupid they were. Ridiculous!

I was telling DH about this last time I heard about the duck. I was telling him about normalizing bottles. He looked at me (over a video game controller of course) and said "what, are the 5 year olds going to relactate so they can adopt their cabbage patch duck?" hehehe

I think I saw those a few months ago, am I remembering correctly that the mammals didn't have bottles?

We were just at Target and noticed a parrot with a bottle.

That brings to mind an old saying, "what do you know about milking ducks?" I guess there is more to that than I'd realised.
