So jealous. I am trying to teach myself felting and I picked up the same book. I haven't had any luck so far.

Any tips?

In my novice experience, here's what I've noticed:
-using soap really helps the fibres to felt together.
-when fulling, alternating hot and cold water soaking helps shrink things very quickly. Much quicker than just soaking and rubbing.

HTH.

Is there something specific you're having trouble with?

I'm jealous too. I can never seem to get the "flaps" to go away when wet felting. I really want to make hats, slippers, bags, etc, since I have so much wool. I seem to get caught at the almost done phase. Still, those slippers are great inspiration.
