Sue Gregg's cookbooks

I was wondering if anyone uses Sue Gregg's recipes, besides the pancake one on her website.

I am intrigued and want to use this method for grain grinding and soaking, but don't want to shell out $24 for a book if the recipes are bad.

anyone know??

If you read a bunch at the website, pretty much all of the one I bought, is on there. The cookbook isn't set up up with a bunch of recipes. It is more a 'how to' with extensive explanations about the reasons and the specific benefits of each step so that you understand. It is comprehensive, but mostly narrative, imo. The website is a HUGE resource. Depends if you like to read a paper version or screen version.

Hmm, that sounds pretty good actually. I don't like books that are just a million recipes without any explanation. Thank you Pat.

I love it. 'Cause now I understand better. And I can reference it easily for an explanation when I am tweeking. I don't generally follow directions, I improvise. So, the cookbook is great in that way. It does have general recipes and then all the 'but if' and 'try this' type info.

The web site is amazingly comprehensive. But, a bit hard to get around.

I'm a bit confused about her cookbooks from a TF standpoint... while she does recommend soaking grains and using butter, she also seems to recommend low fat/non-fat dairy... especially noticed this in the kid's cookbook I just previewed. Though I guess just ignore that & go with regulary dairy? Thoughts?

I think her books are a bit dated. But, she has brought them up to speed, in some areas. I wouldn't say they are TF. Just "healthy" and "simple" are her goals, imo. Of course, "healthy" depends upon the pov.

They are wonderful intros to soaking grains, because she makes it easy. And no special equipment, so it is approachable.
