Hey ladies. I just got on, finally. Saw the top thread had my name in the title and I was absolutely overwhelmed. How sweet you all are! I figure I should post an update asap, so I'll read all your posts later.

After 42 hours of "real" contractions, 31 hours after my membranes ruptured, 6 hours after transfering to the hospital, 4 hours after starting the pit and the epi,

was delivered by emergency c-section on November 16th at 9:15am.

He's a beautiful boy and has stolen my broken heart away. Pictures later.

Aw man. My heart goes out to you. It is so hard when you prepare for a natural birth and do everything right, and end up with a cesarean. That's what happened to me with my first birth. (Except I had a lot fewer hours of labor...my gosh, that is a real marathon you went through!)

I would encourage you to reach out ti your local ICAN chaper sooner rather than later. It really helps to tell your story to a group of women who totally get the idea that you can be 100% thrilled and overjoyed with your new baby, but also disappointed with your birth experience.

I have to admit, I have been checking daily for your post, too! Welcome John Paul Elliott! I had a c-section this time around as well. How is nursing going? With a guy that big, I hope he eats like a champ for you! Rest and recover- I wish your family well.

I'm sad to hear that you ended with a transfer and c/s. I hope you can be able to process it and find the good in all of it. Give it time, and don't hesitate to seek out help if you need it.
