dd is 4.5 years old and i'm taking her to see the 1 hour production of Nutcracker. I just dont think she can sit thru two hours of it!

I tried to take my son last year at 3 and we made it through about 5 minutes. But, all kids are different, and your daughter is interested in ballet and such. I'd do it. I'm tryiing again with my son this year too.

I was thinking about this today... DD (3) and I were talking about going to see the Nutcracker this Christmas and I learned that she was under the impression that she was going to be DANCING in the Nutcracker.

Poor girl. We watch the DVD at home and she always dances along in her tutu. She was thoroughly upset to learn that she will have to sit in the audience.

DD loves the music from The Nutcracker. We are planning on taking her this year. I agree with pp that getting familiar with the storyline and music is a good idea.As far as remembering it....I feel that memories are built. If you go and rgen continue to talk about it it will become a memory. Just my opinion. At 3 dd could easily sit through a 2 hour mobie. We went to a play (Charlie Brown) at a small theatre and she was a bit bored, but we went to Wicked right after she turned 5 and sh was riveted. When it ended she wanted to see the performance again immediately, and it was a night time performance. Again, every child is different.
