Zephan is doing well. He is now 33 weeks gestational age. He is healthy, growing and breathing well. This week we're going to work a little more on breastfeeding. He will also probably move out of an isolette into a little crib.

I've been a lurker in this DDC (I think I posted once or twice), and I just had my DS yesterday at 34 weeks + 5 days. His early arrival was not a complete surprise, since DS1 was born at 35 weeks and DD at 34+3. My midwives had hoped that weekly progesterone shots (the big study on them came out a week after my DD's birth) might cause me to bake this one a bit longer but it was not to be.

He weighed 5 pounds 1 ounce and is very healthy other than needing to learn how to feed for a bit in the NICU. I'm pumping and hoping to try him on the breast very soon. He was my second VBAC and it was a great labor and delivery other than an anterior lip which slowed things down at the very end. I didn't tear and I left the hospital 18 hours after the delivery, feeling great.

Great news: Zephan is coming home on Friday!

He has done everything he needs to do. He's breastfeeding on demand now, growing, breathing well, and today he finally passed his car seat test. I'm so ready to have our little bean home. He'll be 34 weeks and 6 days and will weigh about 4 pounds 13 ounces when he comes home. He will have been in the NICU for 24 days.
