out of the mouth of your DC

I love the thought process of my DCs.

4 yo DS "Mommy, do you remember before I was in daycare, I was in your belly, and then I was in the egg, and then I went pop and I popped out. Just like the chicken."

I have also found out that I can not walk on the family room floor, I must hop on all the toys and misc. on the floor, because "it is big water there, and there are monsters and snakes, because some snakes like water."

2yo DD has also joined the irrational club, with comments like she won't do XYZ, and when I ask why not, she says "because I put you in jail mommy." (she got that from DS, who got that from daycare I suppose.)

Oh my, and DD just informed me that "penguins have no clothes on. And no socks on." Glad to hear it.

Please share your DCs musings.

I am sure that I will think of more, but here is one from last week. In the middle of the night, there was a mosquito bozzing around. My 4yo DD, in half-wake, half-slumber mumbled about a bee. I said, "no, it was a mosquito". She mused that "a mosquito is like a bee", then after two seconds said, "no bees are different, they make honey, Pooh Bear eats honey"...then she drifted back to sleep...

Just this week we got our first big snow (a little early for us). Ds (5) says, "Well, I guess there just won't be Thanksgiving this year (because snow means Christmas in his mind) everybody's just going to have to toss their turkeys out."
