I need ideas that are under $10 if possible.
Things I can make would be fine.
I don't care if it makes noise, needs batteries or is messy at this point.
They all like video games.

My son (now 10) is a big fan of the Andy Griffiths books. They are kind of like sick-funny-silly. Titles like "Just Shocking" or "Just Annoying".

He also likes Playmobil figures (some of them can be under US$ 10).

Do they like music? A harmonica or a recorder can be nice (although not so nice for other family members, until they get better).

A volcano (make out of clay & give baking soda, vinegar & instructions).

Knit some juggling balls or some hackie-sacks?

A small cribbage board and deck of cards?

Mexican Train Dominoes is one of the funnest games for this age group - it's addicting!!!

My nephews LOVE these Geyser Tubes - and they're only like 4 bucks a pc.

Marshmallow Launchers cost a bit more - but also great fun!

Good luck!

Legos. You can usually buy a small box that will make something in particular and the best I can remember - they cost under $10. My kids all love Legos beginning at the age of 5 and my oldest is almost 13 and still loves them.

If his school is anything like my DS's, the boys are all obsessed with Pokemon and Bakugan -- you can get trading card packs for under $10 and you can get a Bakugan ball/character for less than that as well.

Balsa wood gliders.

Goosebump books

Legos

If you want to move up a step, some models, science kids, craft kits would be in that range. Anything remote control, though that price point would be something small.
