i only found out that Edward was Cedric after i watched the movie and IMDB'd it. i dont think he looks ANYTHING like Cedric anymore. but he is HUNKY in both movies :

I just saw this. I LOVED it. Well, Bella was a little awkward for my taste but it was a great movie. I can't wait until Eclipse comes out so we can see sexy Jacob. I did not like the glittery skin for Edward it did not look like what I was expecting. It looked like he was drenched in water.

oh i just remembered another scene that was awkward. when bella first encounters edward in the biology classroom. edward looked like he was trying to hard to appear repulsed. and i didn't like the hand over the nose thing. didn't seem realistic. he was holding his breath the whole time anyway.

You know who I did love.... Alice, Emmett, and Jacob. They were so much like their actual characters. They were great. Alice was cute and sweet and even her voice was nice. I can't wait until the next movie comes out. I am ready to see more Jacob Black.

I : Emmett, too!
Someone said he just seemed to goofy. But I got that feeling from the book. Whe he has to be, he's all rough and tumble (like when he was on the back of the truck), but the rest of the time, he seems like he's be a fun goofy guy to hang around with.

Ah, yes, I noticed this! I thought it was But, that might be because I am NOT team Edward. I'm more a fan because I like to make fun. I think Bella and Edward have an unhealthy relationship. He's NOT a god or an angel, for pete's sake.

I thought he looked sweaty too. What a waste of all the CGI technology we have these days. I guess I get that they didn't want it to be over the top, maybe? But I have a hard time believing that THAT is the skin that would get him executed by the Volturi if he dared step out of the shadows. Would anyone even notice??

I agree! I had a hard time believing others would freak out if they saw his sweaty looking skin. And speaking of the Volturi... I am dying to know who is going to play them in the third movie (if they make one).

Well, I LOVED the movie! I went Sunday with my friend who's read the books and she loved it too. I've been so busy with school and work that I haven't had much time to read in the last few months, but not that school is over with I'm going to start the series. I'm really excited to begin!

I thought New Moon was the second and Eclipse was the third?

Eeee!!! you're fast! There won't be a book 5. Stephenie says that Edward and Bella's story has been told, basically, but that there are other characters who haven't told their story so there is the potential for more books from other characters' points of view. Nothing for sure though.. just possibilities. Now, head over to stepheniemeyer.com because there's LOTS of goodies to enjoy there. Such as over 200 pages from Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's pov) and "deleted scenes" from twilight and new moon. and stephenie made playlists for every book.. basically, music that inspired her or she listened to a lot while writing! There's some songs that fit books *perfectly*...listen to Hate Me by Blue October and imagine Edward singing the words in New Moon.

I think my special gift is super-fast reading. I just read the entire series (including Midnight Sun) in less than a week.

So anyway, saw the movie last night with DH and 12-year old neice and her best friend (wow... so glad I don't teach 7th grade!) Any other nursing mommies out there? When Edward was sucking the venom out of Bella and couldn't let go, I leaned over to DH and said "Just like Lu and the boob!!!"

I took dd and a friend Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the movie because I have not read the books yet. (Apparently I'm on the waitlist at both the library and my own HOME right after dd's bff and a coworker of dhs.)

So dd professes that the movie sucks. Edward is ugly and the series is RUINED.

My thoughts. Edward was a hottie.
I can't wait to read the books but now I'm trying to remain oblivious to all the things that I overhear.

Funny story. My brother was dragged there by his girfriend! He said he felt strange to be the only guy around so many tween-aged girls. I crack up everytime I think of my brother surrounded by my youngest dd's peergroup. My brother has a biker-tough guy image.

what what what? Aww man! I'm waiting for Breaking Dawn to come to the library for me tomorrow but then I'll be all done. I really don't love the writing style and I think Bella's a whiny brat most of the time, but the story just gets me. It's such an escape I think that it's easy to fall into and want to watch everything play out.

I thought the movie was decent but the dialogue between Bella & Edward was really strained the whole time. I get it in the beginning but after they establish a relationship it shouldn't still have those LONG pauses between everything they say. I wish they had shown them having fun and enjoying being together more than they did. It felt like a major disconnect.

The other thing I DID NOT get - when Bella sneaks away to meet up with James. They show Jasper, Edward & Alice at the hotel and Bella looks at them and then leaves. It was written so well, so quickly in the book that it was a great part of suspense that they just threw out.

That said, I'm not totally disappointed, and can't wait to see New Moon on the screen. Though wasn't it obvious that they'd do a second with the way the first ended? I thought so and didn't get the big surprise/excitement when Summit announced the second movie was coming.

It still hasn't come out in this part of the world - it'll be out on Thursday! I'm so excited!

From the trailers I've seen, I'm a little worried I won't like it. Bella seems so intense and afraid... and "it does in my world"? That has to be about the cheesiest thing I've ever heard and it's not even in the book and seems so out-of-character.

I think I'm going to like it anyway because I love the story overall.

CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THURSDAY!
