New here, Starting Clomid- HELP!

Hi,
I am new here. I just got home from the dr and she confirmed what I have thought all along - I dont ovulate.
*BACKGROUND* I start my periods when I was 12 (21 now) and have never had a regular cycle-EVER! So when i got married I went and she put me on bc pills. While on the pills I was regular but took myself off of them after 10 months on them due to horrible headaches. As soon as I went off them right back to abnormal periods. I went 90 days without a period this summer when my dr put me on provera to start it. That cycle went 60 days and now I am on CD35.
I had blood work done and test done. DH is going in for Semen samples next week to make sure everything is ok for him before we spend money on fertility drugs. If everything is ok with him I start Provera monday and after I start my period I start CLOMID on CD3. Then after the 5 days of Clomid I go in to the dr to have a ultrasound done to see if the Clomid is going to work.
So Its ALOT for me to swallow right now.
So I guess I belong here Any good stories would be appreciated. How much did Clomid cost? Any side affects?

That sounds so familiar. I had very rare periods until I was put on synthroid and metphormin. Have you been tested for thyroid or any other endocrine issues?

Even with regular cycles I didn't get pregnant and have done two rounds of clomid. Still not pregnant. It hasn't been expensive. I got to Target pharmacy and the lowest does (50 whatevers) is only $9. Can't beat that! I've had fairly mild side effects. I get cranky and have mild cramping.

Yes your story sounds very familiar. My cycles were 12 month apart for a long time and even with a wonderful diet/exercise they are still several months apart with ovulation happening once or twice a year. I'm so glad we eventually did clomid! I didn't have many side effects. Some hot flashes, a little anxiety/depression, some moodyness and food cravings during the 2ww. It was worth it. The 50mg dose worked perfect for me. It's cheap too. I think it's about $20 per cycle.
