Bad latch on one side (2-year old)

Ds just kills my right nipple when he nurses. It almost feels like he just doesn't latch on properly. I have much lower supply on that side, but I don't know why that would affect his latch. It's starting to *really* bug me when he nurses like that. It doesn't feel like he's nibbling, but it gets red after nursing. He doesn't do this on the left, so I don't know what the deal is. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions on why this is happening or how to stop it? I can't stand the pain of him nursing on the right anymore, and I'm worried because my already low supply on that side is getting lower.

Have you tried the 'open wide, no wider, no wider, ok here's the boob' thing? How about changing nursing positions?

How long has it been going on? Have you tried different positions change the latch and ease the pain?
DD is just 2 and last week her latch was off on one side, drove me crazy, and very painful! I rode it out for the week and it has resolved itself somehow. So, maybe it will only last a short time. Hang in there, I know it's not fun!
