Clomid & IUI Question

I'm new at this entire infertility (treatment) thing so I'm hoping someone can help.

Clomid: So I usually ovulate between day 9 and day 12. Here we are at day 11 and while I have 2 follicles ready to go it doesn't look like anything will happen for another couple days - so sometime around day 13-15. I thought Clomid was supposed to move ovuation up, not back? Did this happen to anyone else? Doctor didn't seem to think it was odd at all.

IUI: Is there a definitive answer on how long sperm lives inside once it is inserted via an IUI after the sperm washing procedure? I keep seeing different answers and my doctor wasn't in the office today and the main nurse was in a meeting and the nurse on duty wasn't sure - she's new to the practice and I thought to confirm the sperm time thing after she had hung up the phone with the doctor. Anyone know for sure? I want to be involved in deciding on the timing of the IUI and I've gotta be informed for that to happen.

I think that's normal for Clomid. For me, it did move my ovulation up but only because I don't generally ovulate until somewhere between days 19 and 22. I ovulated around day 14 or 15 last month with the Clomid.

As far as timing the IUI, are you using a trigger?

Also, are you checking for an LH surge? Even tho I do trigger shots, I still look with the OPK because I want to miss nothing. As far as the sperm life, I have read from 6-12 hours once in the uterus, and the egg lives 12-24 hours. Thats why timing is critical. Best of luck

We're doing u/s and bloodwork monitoring. OPK's have never worked for me. We'll do a trigger shot based on the u/s and blood results.
