I love wahing my hair with baking soda but it gets SO DRY here in Colorado my hair is ALWAYS staticy.

What do you use for "moisture" if not conditioner?

(Todaay I tried baking soda and then regular conditioner. )

I'd like to know that, too. I use baking soda and then conditioner, too. My hair is long, fine and straight, so I have to protect not only against static but also split damaged ends. This combo works for me, but I hate buying conditioner.

Do you rinse with something acidic like diluted vinegar?

You can try using tiny amounts of oil on the ends- rub a little into your hands then run your hands through the dry part of your hair.

I've had a lot of luck using a Tbs. apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water. My hair is long and before going poo-free was always frizzy. No more! Good luck!

Have you tried baking soda and a once or twice a week mayo rinse? I use Dr. bronners for shampoo, face, body, and then mayo, wrap with towel, blowdry on high with hair still in towel twice a week. It does'nt strip my henna, and is'nt too greasy if I put a quarter-size on the ends and mush it upwards. Occasionally (once a monthish) I'll add a raw egg. Sometimes I forgo the Bronners' and just use apple cider vinegar. Hope this helps.

How about shampoo bars with a small percentage of oils left unsaponified (superfatted)?

Definitely rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar. It helps tame the frizzies and softens your hair. If you still need some anti-frizz help, use some aloe vera gel as styling gel after you rinse.

I am in Denver, so think "less than zero percent humidity." What does ACV do?

I am in alberta. We have negative humidity, too. Use the apple cider vinegar. Not every rinse, though. I dilute it 1 tbsp to 1 c water, and use that every 3rd wash. It really helps with the static.
good luck.
