latex pillows etc

I have been reading more and more about latex pillows and mattresses. They are sold as something that doesn't off-gas etc. But doesn't anyone wonder if they would cause latex allergies?? I mean isn't that why people started hearing about latex allergies-because of nurses etc developing allergies form using latex gloves for years. Latex allergies can be really bad news.

We have a latex bed and I love it. You don't have any bodily contact with the latex, so I'm not worried about allergy development. I'm more worried about off-gassing with other types of beds.

I read something recently (perhaps on Mercola in the comments section?) that the main problem with latex is that unless it is properly washed, there are thousands of tiny particles of latex that go in the air and can sensitize people. That's why cheap latex gloves are often the culprit in sensitizing people. If it's washed properly there shouldn't be an issue unless you are already allergic to it.
