Whoa! We are finally making some leeway here.
Most of the medical stuff is done (aside from prenatal and chiropractor appointments). We just have our dental appointments and 1 vet appointment left (something to marvel as we have 2 cats, 3 dogs, and 3 guinea pigs).
The laminate and painting have mostly been done (it's 100% complete in our studio/office). As of the end of this week, it will be completed and hopefully the rooms will be moved in all the way after the end of next week—including the soon-to-be nursery.
The nursery has been challenging to work on. It used to be our guest room, and I was hoping to move the queen-sized bed in it to a downstairs room (old office), but that room is still pretty cluttered and we also thought it'd be a really good idea to leave the bed in there in case I want to sleep alone with the baby (sans husband and little dogs).
We still need to get decent blinds (want some child-safe ones) and curtains for the nursery and bedroom.
This weekend I managed to score a portable swing component that goes with our carseat and I will be picking up a full-sized swing (one that we had on our registry forever) for less than half the price they are sold online. Yay, Craigslist!
We also have:
- Graco carseat
- cloth dipes (8 AIOs, 2 prefitteds, 36 prefolds) & wipes
- bum spray (got some California baby at 60% off at our grocery store)
- our Arm's Reach cosleeper
- 2 extra sheets
- a really awesome thermometer
- a snot sucker
- a booster seat that attaches to our chairs (so we don't have to buy a high chair).
- an inflatable duckie tub
- a diaper bag (& 2 wet bags)
- a diaper pail (& 2 liners)
- a Sleep Sheep (makes ambient noise—like rushing water and whale sounds)
- Ameda breastpump
We still need to get a dresser/baby changer. I saw a couple nice ones on Amazon, and we will probably see if we can find a good deal on one after the holidays.
I'm hoping we'll score some baby blankets, bath things, and maybe a few more baby clothes over the holidays as we visit family.
I've put away most of my pre-maternity clothes in nice little plastic bins for now (and some that I haven't worn in years went to Good Will). It leaves space open in our closet and drawers, and it will be like opening a gift when I can finally fit in them again.
We just started our prenatal classes last week (hypnobabies). So far it is a very fun, educational, and relaxing class.
I packed the diaper bag with things we will use for Alexa on her birthday.
I still need to figure out what to pack for me, but I think I'll worry about that in a couple weeks.
I think we are close to being ready.
Gosh... Think I'm in the "nesting" mode yet? Who knows?
I just feel pumped!
Now, to finish that pesky holiday shopping. :P
