dandruff/dry scalp and no-poo

I have this partch on my scalp right at the front and top of my hairline. It's about the size of a quarter and very itchy and flaky.

My normal routine is a CO wash once... MAYBE twice a week (depending on how my hair feels). Sometimes I will do WO washes in between... and sometimes, I won't wet it at all and will just use a very fine mist sprayer (water) and scrunch it up (naturally wavy-curly hair). It all depends on how it looks and how I wore it the day before.

So does anyone have any tips for my itchy flaky spot that would complement a no-poo routine? And exactly how do I do it? I've read in some places to use TTO, but how do I use it? Just put it straight on the spot? Dilute it in water? Pour it on? Dab it on? etc? Are there any other ideas?

Dandruff is caused by a fungal infection, so anything that will kill fungi will work. Not sure what the natural remedies to this are long-term. Mine is so bad at times that I need to use a special shampoo to keep it under control. Hope you find some solutions to this problem.

You can try mixing 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup water and spray it on the patch with a spray bottle or put a drop of tto into a couple tbsp of olive oil and dab it onto your scalp as needed. hth!

Flaking and itchness is not always dandruff.

I've heard about useing a brine sea salt solution for itching spots and flaking that I'm going to try on my DH soon, but haven't yet.

btw; I've found the long hair community to be very informative and helpful.
